What is Double Darvo?

This happens when abusive professionals support the abuser’s claims, turning advocacy for mothers and children into the target of false accusations of Darvo.

DARVO stands for Deny, Attack, Reverse, Victim & Offender.

Double DARVO is a manipulative tactic often used to flip the narrative of who the real abuser is.

For instance, when a mother reports her child is being abused, an abusive father may accuse the mother of being the real abuser.

They may claim she has “manipulated or brainwashed the child” to falsely report abuse, often labeled as “parental alienation.”

Why it matters?

The so-called “evidence” used by these professionals is often flawed and unregulated.

These tactics distort reality and co-opt progress in women’s rights to discredit victims and protect abusers.

What should you do if you see this happening?

Call out the Double DARVO to protect victims!
